Spiritual and avant-garde jazz recordings in the 1960s and 1970s were Pharoah Sanders‘ connection to my jazz listener knowledge. The saxophonist is, however, deeply attached with tradition – his delicate sensitive touch is ideal to start an ugly wintry Monday – listening to this wonderful collection of ballads.
