Couldn’t stop watching this documentary – time for the artists to speak!

“For Jackie McLean “Mars” are the classrooms in Hartford, Connecticut, where he now makes his living as a teacher. In the course of this documentary, interviews with McLean on jazz tradition, the politics of art, and heroin addiction. There are also dialogues with his college students, and his rehearsals and performances with Woody Shaw and the Jackie McLean Septet.”
