Pat Metheny: TRIO 99>00

When Pat Metheny decides to play in trio – we get the most of him – freshness and distinction! His younger side men, talented Larry Grenadier on bass and Bill Stewart on drums, made the connection so brightly that we get a wonderful collection of tracks. Enjoy them!

Peter Bernstein, Larry Goldings, Bill Stewart: Nodody Else But Me – live at Ottawa Jazz Festival

This is the Larry Goldings Trio, but it’s the guitar player, Peter Bernstein that I would like to stand out. I’m in a guitar player mood so, Peter Bernstein has his own tone, phrases come with the right time, notes are deep although they slowly fade away one after the other. Peter is a thoughtful musician, I love his almost sad, beautiful guitar sound!

A great trio to start Thursday – the organ, the drums and the guitar go along perfectly, then the place is ideal – The Village Vanguard – the music pleases our ears – my favourite radio station – WBGO – sponsored the concert!

JOHN SCOFIELD & JOE LOVANO QUARTET || Leverkusener Jazztage 2015

Having these two at the front of the stage, they have been playing together since their student days at Berklee, at times it makes us not believe their age, both professors and touring again together this year, the last time was in 2008. Let’s just enjoy it!

Lage Lund | Foolhardy

Lage Lund possesses great improvisational and compositional technique – the album demands full attention and some experience in complex concepts from the listener. Foolhardy is a refined album even if the three last tracks are standards with swing enough to ease the listener’s task.
