James Carter delivers a massive, glorious sound, always fresh and young, seeking desperately for excess. Love it!

THE CARNAGIE HALL JAZZ BAND: Joshua Redman & James Carter

I am not a fan of big bands, I know it is a whole new world – quite hard to explore, although magically alluring! But then I found – I had to share it – this clip from the DVD  “Eastwood After Hours – Live At Carnegie Hall”. Clint even shows up at the end of it – the band is amazing, together with Joshua Redman and James Carter they make _________ (choose the right words -I’ll give you no option!

James Carter: a painting by Wadsworth A. Jarrell

“I am constantly searching for new inventive ways to introduce a new vision in art. This relentless search is a mirror of my beliefs, thoughts, knowledge and experiences to express the spiritual, sublime, and uncanny beauty beyond what the soul can conceptualize.”

James Carter Organ Trio – Jazzwoche Burghausen 2004

The James Carter Organ Trio performs at the Jazzwoche Burghausen 2004 – quite a concert they deliver! Not a very common formation – the trio is composed by a drummer, an organist and a saxophonist. All three are very intense and aware of the trails they choose. They are still playing together these days, exhibiting their skills and personality – and above all their perfect connection as a group, managing to interplay in such a way that everything looks natural and easy. A great trio, a remarkable concert!

James Carter Organ Trio – At The Crossroads 2011
