JAVON JACKSON || Expression || Smoke Sessions

This post was scheduled to appear last Saturday morning.

I postponed it for obvious reasons.

The more I reread it, the less it makes sense.

As a matter of fact it doesn’t make any sense at all!

These Smoke Sessions are quite fine to listen to with no worries, the weekend has just started,  nothing can change that after all.

The album can be listened on Spotify.

Javon Jackson: tenor sax Orrin Evans: piano Corcoran Holt: bass McClenty Hunter: drums

Eric Reed: Groovewise

Eric Reed has a prominent position among jazz piano players. His compositions hold accuracy and compassion – he proves it along these live Smoke sessions on September 6 and 7, 2013. His quartet was composed by saxophonist Seamus Blake, bassist Ben Williams and drummer Gregory Hutchinson. Reed composed eight of the ten selections performed, covering Clifford Jordan‘s “Powerful Paul Robeson” and Christian McBride‘s “The Shade of the Cedar Tree.”
