I have been listening to the whole concert! It’s wonderful! The place, the audience, the music, the musicians, the footage really captures these unique moments! Better than this it would have been to be in the middle of that audience – real jazz lovers – to keep such good warm memories!

We were living in Paris and were out walking one night. We went by this fenced in yard and could hear a group playing jazz and the woman was singing in English. So we stopped and listened and then went in to talk to them. She didn’t understand a word she was saying in English. She was singing it phonetically.

The French are very reluctant in learning foreign languages – even English! I am not surprised although I think she could have done a little effort!

The funny thing is she sounded like she was fluent in English. She was just soundin out the words.

That’s a great skill! Tell me you need to understand the words to sing soulfully – it’s a myth, is it not? :D

I think she probably knew the meaning of the words and she certainly did sound soulful.
