Jonathan Batiste is from Louisiana and that says a lot, he is a member of a long descent of musicians and that says even more. Jazz is now is an album about the essence – social or religious chants, ballads or dances, spirituals or blues. Enjoy it, but beware – this is not easy listening stuff!
